Meet Justin Mauldin
Candidate for Mayor

Justin Mauldin is a Christian conservative, a dedicated husband and father, and a committed public servant with a proven record of leadership in Carthage and Smith County. He and his wife, Sarah, have been married for thirteen years and are raising their two sons in the community they are proud to call home.
A man of deep faith, Justin attends the Carthage Church of Christ where he serves on the ministry staff. Justin’s faith is not something he sets aside when he enters the public square. It is the foundation upon which every decision, every commitment, and every act of service is built. He believes that leadership is a calling, not merely a career, and that those entrusted with the responsibility of public office are ultimately accountable not only to the citizens they serve but to God. It is this conviction that drives Justin to lead with honesty, to treat every person with dignity, and to approach the work of governance with humility and purpose. He seeks God’s will in all that he does, trusting that faithful stewardship of the opportunities placed before him is the highest form of service to his community.
Justin currently serves as Vice Mayor of the Town of Carthage and as Smith County Commissioner representing Carthage in District 6. He was appointed to Vice Mayor by his fellow council members and will continue to champion open government by providing consistent public updates on council proceedings, maintaining direct communication with residents, and ensuring the business of the town is conducted with integrity and transparency. As County Commissioner, he was appointed Chairman of the Smith County Financial Management Committee, where he has worked to strengthen fiscal oversight and ensure the responsible stewardship of public funds.
His commitment to the community extends beyond government. He served two consecutive terms as President of the Smith County Chamber of Commerce from 2022-2024 and is a 2017 graduate of Leadership Opportunity Smith County. He also serves on the board of C.R.E.W. Inc. (Christian Recreation & Education Workers), a nonprofit overseeing and supporting the work of Taylor Christian Camp. He is a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. In his spare time, Justin enjoys spending time with his family, at church, or attending anything sports related.

Accountability. Every decision and every dollar must be answerable to the people of this town. True leadership means taking responsibility and delivering results, not offering excuses.
Accessibility. Government works best when its leaders are available to the people they serve. Justin pledges to maintain an open door, share his personal number publicly, respond to every concern, and remain present and engaged in the daily life of this community.
